What’s the Object of the Game?

It’s simple! Go on a quest to collect the most Unicards to win the game.

Ready to Play?

Start by placing all 7 Unicards at the center of the table in a row face up. Use the Multi-Color Unicards for Round 2, if playing with the UniQuest Expansion Pack. See more about those cards here.

Remove the Quick Guide Cards and shuffle all the remaining cards together: Unicorn Playing Cards, Wild Rainbow Unicorn Cards, Dark Horse Card, Pick A Card (Expansion Pack only). The player who loves unicorns the most starts the game as the card dealer.

Deal each player a hand of 5 cards to begin. Set the remainder of the cards in the center of the table face down. Flip the top card to start the discard pile.

* If the Dark Horse is the first card in the discard pile, shuffle it back into the deck and flip over a new card.

Let's Play

Step 1

Play starts to the left of the dealer.

Players have 2 options on each turn:

Draw a card from the top of the deck OR
Draw from the top of the discard pile, but only if you can use that card to collect a Unicard on that turn.

Step 2

Collect Unicorn Playing Cards with color-matching horns, manes, and hooves to create one of the Unicards.

If You Can Build a Unicard

If you can build a Unicard, shout “Unicard!” on your turn, and collect the Unicard.

Discard the three cards you used to build the Unicard, and draw two new cards from the deck.Play moves to the next player who must draw from the top of the deck. You cannot draw from the discard pile on the turn after a Unicard has been collected.

* Only 1 Unicard can be collected per turn.

** Players must always have 5 playing cards in their hand.

If You Cannot Build a Unicard

If you cannot build a Unicard on your turn, discard a card, and play continues to the next player.

If you run out of cards in the deck, save the top card, shuffle the discard pile, and continue gameplay.

How to Win

The first player to collect four Unicards wins the game. *Tie-Breaker: The player(s) with the least number of Unicards is out, and his Unicards go back to the center as the tie-breaker. Play continues with tied players only. All regular rules apply.

How Long Does it Take to Play

Average play time is 10 minutes. If playing with the UniQuest Expansion Pack, playing time will be longer.

For Longer Gameplay

Continue until all the cards are collected. The player with the most cards wins.

How Many People Can Play

The game is for two or more players. The original UniQuest game works best with up to 4 players. When playing with the UniQuest Expansion Pack, the game can be played with up to 8 players.
